8th Grade:
Monday: PLTW 2.3 Windmill Project--Students will apply what they learned about gear mechanisms to make a working windmill that will wind up a spool of string--no directions included!
Tuesday: Video--(I will be at a STEM conference)
Wednesday: Finalize Windmill & test
Thursday: Introduction of PLTW 2.4 Pull Toy project & brainstorming
Friday: Work on Pull Toy design and engineering
7th Grade:
We have started an exciting new PBL! "How does the space environment, or space-like conditions affect living organisms?" We are planting tomato seeds that have been exposed to microgravity on the International Space Station, and have made predictions about their growth compared to tomato seeds that have not been in space. Students are reading the classroom edition of "The Martian", and will be making a model of a human body system. We will have a busy, exciting and fun week!
