Sept 18-22

8th Grade: Students are finishing up their research on the Chemistry of Baking. Make sure you have finished pricing the cost of your ingredients, because you will need that for your Test Kitchen Report. Students signed up for a day to bring in their baked goods. We will have a professional chef on one of the days to judge their entries. Unfortunately, I had two professional chefs scheduled for the Tuesday that Hurricane Irma kept us out of school, and that was the only day they could come in for us. We played catch-up last week, but now everyone should be on track to present their baked item experiment for Thursday or Friday.

7th grade: Last week, students voted on their favorite T-shirt design to be presented for the three groups to choose from. We had some very clever submissions!! I hope we have some winners from our class. This week, students will start their new biome project. Each student will research 2 biomes, make a team choice for solution to the problem, and then present to the class their reasons for making their decision.
