Monday-Thursday we will be working on a new problem with the Driving question: What information will Palmer Middle School students need to know to have a safe and enjoyable viewing of the Solar Eclipse on Aug. 21? Students will be asking and researching questions of concern & interest to middle school students. We will have some hands on activities, and examine the mechanics of solar eclipse glasses and their safety. You should have brought your empty cereal box, because we will make a solar viewer with it. Finally, plan on working with a team to develop informational media for distribution to Palmer students.

Friday (if we finish all that), we will get a head start on our next unit with a lab for physical and chemical properties and changes.

This week, get ready to find out more about the importance of bees and other pollinators in crisis. We will research in teams different pollinators, and their habitat preferences. You will design and engineer a 3D habitat prototype appropriate for your pollinator. Then we will finish up by displaying your product in a Gallery Walk for your peers.
